Cabildo Quarterly

Mike met Todd Dills at a reading in 2011, and was impressed by The 2nd Hand, Todd's long-running literary broadsheet. With Todd's blessing, Mike started Cabildo Quarterly in 2012 as a vehicle for new and emerging writers.

In 2013, poet Lisa Panepinto came onboard as poetry editor. 

We wrapped up publication of Cabildo Quarterly on September 30, 2021. Thanks to all who read, contributed and helped.

Issue #15 (Spring 2021). Featuring new poetry and fiction by Zebulon Huset, Megan Kakimoto, Kelli Stevens Kane, Lauren Bender, Kate Ladew, and an excerpt from "Now We're Grillin' With Gas! My Journey from First-Call Session
Musician to the Undisputed Cookout King of Southern California," a self-released audiobook by Dale Nixon as heard on the "You Don't Know Mojack" podcast.

Issue #14 (Pandemic summer 2020). With new fiction and poetry from BettyAnn Lauria, Fin Sorrel, Wade Fox, Amy L.C. Wilson, Steven M. Smith, Constance Squires and Stephanie Athena Valente. 

Issue #13 (Summah 2019). With new poetry, fiction and essays from Margarita Serafimova, Luke Kuzmish, Ama Birch, Ben Stein, Katherine Sinback, Bruce McRae and Jude Vachon.

Issue #12 (Summer 2018). With new writing from Kaylee Duff, Timothy Berrigan, Kelli Stevens Kane, William Repass, Kurt Morris, Paula Coomer, Daryl Gussin,  Margaret Emma Brandl and Howie Good. 

Issue #11 (Labor Day Weekend 2017) features new poetry and fiction by Gale Acuff, Brendan Kiernan, Natalie Crick, Sean Arenas, Changming Yuan and Rex Thomas.
